First, I would like to do Kobuk Valley. It looks very interesting. It says on a website that it has no roads, no places to stop and get a snack, and no parking facilities. I think it would be interesting to learn about it since i've never heard of it before. It also looks very pretty in the pictures. It looks so calm.
Second, is the Golden Gate Bridge. I picked this because when I was in California I wanted to see it so bad! I never got the chance to but I have always been fascinated by it because everyone always talks about it. It would be very cool to learn more facts about it because I don't really know alot about it.
Lastly, I would like to do the Everglades. I visited it when I went to Florida. I thought it was so fun looking at all those alligators when I drove by. I also know that some of the animals in the Everglades were imported from different countries. I also know that some trees were not from our country. I also heard that all those plants and animals that were imported to fight off the Everglades but ended up making it bigger.

Paper
The three options I would do would be the Statue Liberty, Mount St. Helens, and World War II Memorial.
My first choice is the Statue of Liberty. I choice this one first because it has a lot of history, and such a meaning to it. It represents the freedom and drive, the determination, people showed, to have their rights. It might have token a long time for them to reach their goals, but the got them, and everyone now has the freedom of speech, (or not to speech) freedom to look for happiness, and freedom of press. I have never been to the Statue of Liberty, but of what I have heard it is a beautiful sight, and very important.
My second choice is Mount St. Helens. Mount St. Helens was an average place, with happy people, and then out of no where, it exploded. Leaving hundreds may be even thousands dead, and many injured. I want to no more about it, I know I could just look it up and find more information any time but, I would prefer doing it as an assignment, rather then just for “fun.” I realize not many people want to recall this tragedy, but it’s tragedies like this that we need to remember.

My Top 3 Choices For My Research Paper
Arlington National Cemetery: This is my first choice for a subject, because I would like to learn more about it, and this is a place we will be visiting. The Arlington National Cemetery was established in 1864. It is spread out over 624 acres of land. More than 300,000 people are buried here. It's divided into 70 sections; and each section stands for something different. It's a very special honor to be buried here. Most buried here are veterans, and those killed in war. Other notable people such as Jacqueline Kennedy and William Howard Taft are buried here as well. There are many memorials there, such as the Challenger Memorial and the USS Maine Memorial. The Arlington National Cemetery is a very respectable and honoring place.
Alcatraz: This is second choice, because I thought it would be unique, and not everyone would want to write about it. It was established in 1934, as a federal prison in the US. It is on an island in the San Francisco Bay, near San Francisco, California. Some very famous criminals such as Al Capone and George "Machine Gun" Kelly stayed here. Before 1934, it was used as a holding place for Civil War prisoners.After the Civil War, the amount of prisoners increased due to the Spanish-American War.The island kept expanding, and new cells and buildings were added over time. An interesting fact is that, no one ever successfully escaped from Alcatraz. It was closed in 1963 by Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, because it was the too expensive to run. Alcatraz is now a National Historic Landmark in the US, and is open to the public.
World Trade Center (The Twin Towers)/ 1 World Trade Center: I would like to write about the World Trade Center and Freedom Tower, because I feel like it would be a good subject to write about. The Towers were both built in the late 1960's to the early 1970's. It contained 13.4 million feet of office space and 110 stories. It was the tallest building in the World for a few years. The World Trade Center had minimal destruction before 2001, such as a fire and a small car bombing. In 2001 however, terrorists flew jets into the Towers on September 11th. Many people were killed and both buildings were destroyed. Soon after the attack, plans for a building to replace the Twin Towers, were proposed. The new tower will be called the 1 World Trade Center. Construction began in 2006, and is expected to end in 2013. There will also be a museum with history of the Twin Towers, and dedications to those who lost their lives that day.

Yellowstone National Park is known for the wildlife and the geothermal features in the park. Yellowstone National Park is home to Old Faithful.

I would like to resource this monument,because I know very little about and I wold like to know more about it. This monument was built obviously to horror Abraham Lincoln who freed the slaves from the south. He was a great general and president who won the revolutionary war. He was killed by John Both in a movie cinema. He snuck up right next to him and put a bullet right though his head, it was one of the most tragic things to happen to American history. He was a great man and a great leader, and I would like to learn more a bout his work and what he did.

I would like to do the World War two memorial because I would like to learn more about what it stayed for. All I know is that what happened to Hitler and the Jews. The Holocaust was a really bad thing that should have never happened. this was the worst thing that had ever happened. I know a lot about the holocaust but i know nothing about the museum. I feel that people are trying to forget the holocaust but that is wrong. I know it was bad but we need to remember what happened and how bad of a person Hitler was. And that is why I would like to resource this Museum.
Research Paper Ideas
1. Giant Sequoia: This looks really cool. The trees are very huge. I thought the biggest trees were the Redwoods. I would love to go there and stand next to one of the trees. The facts about these trees would be very interesting.
2. Mount Rushmore: I would like to do Mt. Rushmore because it is very interesting. I have been there recently and I really enjoyed the trip. When we went there we read some facts about it and most of all looked at the significance of it, but I would like to get more in depth. The explosion was so severe it made the north side of the volcano break off. Now in its place thier is a horseshoe shaped crater. The eruption made the volcano reduce 9,677 ft. The monument was made to keep the rest of the volcano to be studied for scientific purposes.

The reef wad first protected in 1948, the area was made a national monument in 1961. It has many types of fish some are endangered such as Brown Pelican, Hawksbill, Leatherback and the Green Sea Turtle. There are many fish in the area, such as Parrotfish, French Angelfish, and Blue Tang. Concessionaires give half, and all day tours daily to Buck Island from St.Croix so you can enjoy snorkeling and other activities.The island and reef are great recreational spots, and atract many tourists.

Everything is made of copper, but the torch the woman is holding is made of gold leaf. The Statue of Liberty is one of the most recognizable icons of the Untited States of America.

My first choice would be the Rainbow Bridge. I want to write about the Rainbow Bridge because I just went there in 2008. The Rainbow Bridge is a symbol of peace between the United States and Canada. It was built after the Honeymoon Bridge collapsed. The water current under the bridge averages 26-30 miles an hour. The construction for the bridge started in May of 1940. It opened on November 1, 1941.
My second choice would be the Gateway Arch. I would like to write about the Gateway Arch because I've been there. It is also known as the Gateway to the West. They built it to symbolize when the first pioneers went out to the West. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1987. On July 21, 2007, about 200 people were trapped in tram cars due to an electrical problem. The tram was closed the next day.
My third choice would be Grand Teton National Park. I have also been to Grand Teton National Park. It is just south of Yellowstone. It is named after the Grand Teton, the tallest mountain in the Teton Range. It was established on February 26, 1929. It covers 484 square miles. there are 200 miles of trails for hikers.
My second choice would be the Gateway Arch. I would like to write about the Gateway Arch because I've been there. It is also known as the Gateway to the West. They built it to symbolize when the first pioneers went out to the West. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1987. On July 21, 2007, about 200 people were trapped in tram cars due to an electrical problem. The tram was closed the next day.

It is one of the greatest memories of spending time with my dad. that is one of the reasons i want to do it.I find things very interesting about that place. It has a lot of history behind it, and i want to learn more about it. It has over 3 million visitors per year. There was also about 400 workers that worked on carving the momument.

1-World War II Monument- i chose the world war II monument because i have 3 grandfathers who have been in it and i could ask them about how it was and how it was like to be in it.. It was opened to the public on April 29, 2004. I think that world war two was an intresting war so i would like to do that monument to learn more about it. It has 56 pillars and a pair of arches surrounding the water fountain. It seems like a real interesting place to visit.

It also has about 16,100 bronze tinted windows. It is located in Chicago, Illinois and cost about $175 million dollars at the time.
3. My third choice would be the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas. It protected the Spanish Army from the Mexican Army. My dad has been there and he said that is was interesting. Early white pioneers who looked for gold, affordable farm land to raise crops, or cheap ranch land for cattle also avoided the lava fields and considered them useless.
